Yes! If you've created a group and you'd like another BateWorld member to lead it - or you'd like to assign another group member to help out, read on to find out how.
To assign the group to another member
If you're thinking about deleting your BateWorld account and don't want your group/s to automatically be put up for adoption, it's possible to assign your group to another member for them to lead it. Bear in mind that to assign the group to someone else, they need to already be a group member.
From your BateWorld profile, head to 'My Profile' from the main menu, then select 'My Groups' from the drop-down list. From the 'My Groups' page, navigate to the group that you lead then select, 'Edit Group'. At the top, you'll see some menu items highlighted in red, select 'Members' then find the member whom you wish to assign the group then select 'Edit Member Details'. A dialogue box will then pop up. Next to the 'Member Rank' option, select the drop-down and choose, 'Owner' then save.
To create an 'Officer'
As group leaders are responsible for moderating the content that appears in their group, sometimes it may be necessary to have an extra pair of hands to help out. In this case, you can assign another group member as an 'Officer'. To make another group member an officer, follow the instructions above and choose 'Officer' instead of 'Owner'.
The officer can moderate discussions, approve group membership requests, remove comments, and delete media. Officer's are not able to modify the groups 'About' page, approve other officers or delete the group. Full admin control of the group will always with the group owner.
